At BOC Institute, we work as an executive search partner to Slovenian and international companies, identifying and recruiting top candidates for expert and leadership roles. Our client is an international company specializing in the distribution and implementation of advanced IT solutions for data centers, networks, security, and cloud infrastructure. As a Value-Added Distributor (VAD), the company provides not only distribution but also consulting, technical support, and assistance in implementing complex IT solutions.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager for Data Centre Technologies to drive market growth, partner development, and revenue expansion for IT solutions within the Slovenian market.

This role is focused on value added distribution, combining strategic business development, partner enablement, and strategic sales support. The position will work closely with channel partners, vendors, and internal teams to identify opportunities, develop a pipeline, and deliver longterm value to customers and partners.

The successful candidate is a self-motivated and independent professional, acting as a trusted advisor to customers by fully understanding their requirements, recommending tailored solutions, and effectively engaging both partners and vendors. Together, with partners and vendors, they will collaboratively secure business opportunities and ensure the seamless delivery of products and services, in line with the position’s expectations.

The responsibilities include active collaboration with end customers, partners, and technology manufacturers, as well as identifying new projects and opportunities in the Slovenian market. The candidate will work within the local sales team and closely collaborate with the regional organization of experts.

The company operates as a Value-Added Distributor (VAD) and works with leading global technology manufacturers, including NetApp, Cisco, and Microsoft. Therefore, the role requires a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and the ability to advise customers on selecting optimal solutions. The work is highly proactive and focused on market development, building long-term customer relationships, and identifying new projects in the field of data center infrastructure.

Main responsibilities, tasks, and duties include:

  • actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Slovenian market
  • building and developing long-term relationships with end customers and business partners
  • identifying customer needs in the field of IT infrastructure and data centers
  • presenting solutions in the following areas:
    • data storage
    • networking infrastructure
    • virtualization and cloud environments
    • IT security
  • collaborating with internal technical teams in preparing appropriate technological solutions
  • preparing and presenting sales proposals for enterprise clients
  • participating in designing project solutions according to clients’ business needs
  • nurturing and developing existing customers pool and developing business with them
  • monitoring market development, new technologies, and competitor activities
  • collaborating with vendors and partners in developing new sales opportunities
  • proactively participating in developing new sales channels and expanding the customer base
  • participating in preparing market analyses, sales reports, and business development plans
  • coordinating cooperation with internal departments and regional expert teams

Candidate profile

Education
  • minimum bachelor’s degree (Level VI) in technical, IT, business, or another relevant field
  • additional professional or technical certifications in IT technologies are desirable
Language and IT Skills
  • active knowledge of Slovenian and English
  • good knowledge of basic IT technologies and infrastructure
  • good knowledge of standard business tools (MS Office, CRM systems)
  • category B driver’s license
Work Experience
  • minimum 5 years’ experience in customer’s consulting on data center and security solutions for their infrastructure
  • experience with enterprise clients or complex IT projects
  • knowledge of data center infrastructure
  • experience of solutions in the following areas:
    • data storage (e.g., NetApp)
    • networking (e.g., Cisco)
    • virtualization (e.g., VMware)
    • cloud infrastructure
    • IT security solutions
  • experience working with vendors, partners, or integrators is an advantage
